Nanosphere structures
The symmetric ring on the left was self-organized by evaporation of a 10 µL drop of a pure water-based nanosphere suspension. The ring on the right, showing various changes - especially in the zone enclosed by the ring - was formed by a 10 µL nanosuspension drop that coexisted with perfluorodecalin for some time in a syringe. The phases were only manually shaken.
The ring diameter is about 5 mm.
