Nanocluster catalyst aims to clean up fossil fuels
Danish researchers are studying MoS2 nanoclusters with a view to improving the performance of catalysts for removing environmentally harmful sulphur from fossil fuels. The team, from the University of Aarhus, Technical University of Denmark and catalyst business Haldor Topsøe, used atomically resolved scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) to examine the reactions at the edge of the nanoclusters.
