Nanowire sensor
Scanning electron microscopy image of a single nanowire sensor device (false colour). The surface of the device has been modified with the protein tyrosine kinase, Abl. Real-time sensing data obtained from the device (superimposed over one electrode) demonstrates drug molecule screening based on inhibition of the Abl enzyme active site.
