Nanopatterning

Hyunmin Yi of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Maryland at College Park, examines a silicon wafer with gold-patterned electrode chips that were used for this study. These microfabricated chips served as portable platforms onto which a natural aminopolysaccharide chitosan was electro-deposited and acted as spatially selective capture sites for viral RNA-specific single-stranded DNA.
