Single-walled nanotubes head for liver
Researchers at Rice University and University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, both in the US, have injected chemically unmodified single-walled carbon nanotubes into rabbits in order to test their suitability for medical applications. They examined the fate of the nanotubes by illuminating them with visible light and searching for the resulting near-infrared fluorescence.
