Proton NMR moves on
A new study on the proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra of a novel class of magnetorheological nanofluids could help scientists distinguish between healthy and damaged tissues in the human body. Natalia Noginova of Norfolk State University in the US and colleagues have found that suspensions of γ-iron oxide nanoparticles affect spin relaxation in liquids surrounding the nanoparticles. The effects are different from those in solids and vary for different liquids.
