"Though we have represented nanotechnology clients for several years now, our formal launch of this practice group is intended to inform the nanotechnology community of our expertise and dedication to assisting it with its legal needs," said Kelly Kordzik, chair of Winstead's nanotechnology practice.
Winstead says that it has provided nanotechnology intellectual-property support to Rice University, US, for several years, as well as working closely with carbon nanotubes expert Richard Smalley. The company also underwrites the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and represents Texas-based nano firm Applied Nanotech, a subsidiary of SI Diamond.
Winstead has five offices in Texas as well as offices in Washington DC and Mexico City.
