Nanotech2013, the world’s largest and most comprehensive international nanotechnology conference, closes its call for submissions on January 16th. Organizers ascribe the continuing strength of this event, now in its 16th year, to the applications focus of the new materials research and innovations shared by more than 4000 attendees from top international academic, government and industrial laboratories worldwide.

'Nanoscience has received a lot of funding, now politicians and funding agencies are looking for the payback - commercially viable products, innovative materials - new companies and jobs, and they have money to support their development,' says Matthew Laudon, Ph.D, Program Chair for the event. ‘We see corporations and agencies from every country looking to fund the commercialization of viable innovations.'

The technical program at Nanotech2013 is accompanied by the TechConnect World Innovation Partnering Program - the world’s largest global technology accelerator program and this provides the context for the exciting applications-focused research in symposia covering the entire range of nanostructured materials.

Submissions are invited for oral or poster presentations on topics including Photonic Materials & Devices, Soft Nanotechnology & Colloids, Carbon Nano Structures & Graphene, Polymer Nanotechnology, Nanoparticles, Nanocomposites, NanoNuclear Materials, Materials for Energy Storage & Novel Generation; and for strong symposia on methods for Nanoscale Materials Characterization, Sustainable Nanomanufacturing, and on Modeling & Simulation at the Nanoscale.

The entire list of symposia at Nanotech2013, and the 150+ international renowned keynote speakers who will be headlining those events, can be seen at the conference website:

The conference will be preceded by a day of professional training and short courses, and will take place in Washington DC, USA, May 12-16, 2013. Be sure to submit your abstract by January 16th.
