Photon12 is the largest optics conference in the UK and the sixth in the series; following Photon02 (Cardiff), Photon04 (Glasgow), Photon06 (Manchester), Photon08 (Edinburgh) and Photon10 (Southampton).

Photon12 will be held in Durham and will be chaired by Professor Allan Boardman, University of Salford, Chair of the IOP Optics and Photonics Division [OPD] and Vice-President of the UKCPO.

Photon is an umbrella conference series embracing a number of important and interconnected constituent conferences with fascinating overlaps and a common social programme.
