Category5 patch cable enhanced high speed cabling is a pre-requisite for today's performance demanding Ethernet and gigabit networks.
cat5e patch cord are mainly used in Gigabit Ethernet and Fast Ethernet, there are STP type cat5e patch cables and UTP cat5e patch cords available, and the UTP type is common and more used. Max working distance of such patch cables is around 100meters. Cat5e wires and cat6 patch cord are most widely used transmission medium between desktops and components, among computers, while fiber optic cable are mainly used to link between buildings and as backbones.
